side effects of motherhood

Almost as good as Robots vs Wrestlers

Can’t say that I’m a huge fan of mornings. I operate much better after 10am and a large cup of coffee, neither of which I usually get because it’s always GET UP AND MOVE THAT BOTTOM COME ON HUSTLE PEOPLE WE’RE GOING TO BE LATE and we scramble to get everyone out of the house in time only to reach the car to find that Tru forgot his blankie or Kirsten dropped a sock along the way and as a result, more scrambling.

Some days, one of us wakes up on the wrong side of bed all cranky and crabby from insufficient sleep (ok, mostly me) and it’s like total anarchy for a good 30 minutes.

But once in a while, we all wake up happy and Tru goes “Good morning mei mei, you sleep well?” then proceeds to climb into her cot to drink his milk right next to her while we stand at the doorway going all ohh and ahh about out perfect lives. For a moment, we get to forget that we had front row tickets the night before to what was the biggest smackdown of all time (maybe not as big as Robots vs Wrestlers, but close), the one where they were trying to claw each other’s eyes out over a bowl of cheerios.

    Really sweet!

Kirsten drinks faster than Tru (do they start with the same amount?)! And Tru’s milk is a lot more yellowish than Kirsten’s :-)

Haha unfortunately Kirsten drinks much slower. Tru starts off with 280ml and Kirsten only takes 160 but they finish at around the same time. And they also drink the same milk but Tru’s bottle is the BPA-free one so it looks a bit yellowish.

I come to your website all the time to tell myself the time will come when Bean interacts with Dot!. They are like 2 separate entities now. This is so lovely!

@Momo, oh yes in another 6 months or so they’ll be interacting so much you wish they will just stop. You probably get 30% of harmonious living and the rest of the time, they’ll be tearing each other’s hair out. SO FUN!

@lynne, kodak moments like these are hard to come by and when they do, must faster grab the camera for a shot.

Aww such a sweet moment! Sean refuses to hold the bottle himself till now so I can never let him drink milk on his own, grr!

@Olimomok, Hahah I INSIST they hold it themselves so I can dawdle on my iPhone while waiting for them to finish up.
