The Writer

Apart from chronicling her journey as a mother to two beautiful kids on www.motherinc.org, Daphne is a freelance writer and editor on both online and print media platforms. Equally adept at covering beauty features, travel or parenting beats, Daphne’s published work include that in the Straits Times, Simply Her magazine, Maybe Baby parenting guides, CityNews, Bridge the South West Community district newsletter, Cozycot.com, Maybebaby.sg, amongst others.

The Blogger

Daphne is the winner of the Best Parenting Blog at the Singapore Blog Awards 2011. SShe has been featured on Lianhe Zaobao, the New Paper, CityNews, NTUC’s Lifestyle Magazine, Mother & Baby, Young Parents. OMY.SG, Razor TV, as well as Raw & Ready on 938 Live.

She was also a finalist for the Best Parenting Blog at the Nuffnang Asia Pacific Blog Awards 2011, Most Insightful Blogger at the Singapore Blog Awards 2010 as well as for the Best Asian Blog in the prestigious 2011 Weblog Awards.

Daphne has been featured in the Asia Mag, Nanzinc, City News and Littlesteps Hongkong as one of Asia’s top mom bloggers.

In Mar 2011, she was invited by Disney as one out of three bloggers in the Asia-Pacific (and the only representative from Singapore) for a fully sponsored trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida to attend Disney’s Social Media Moms conference.

In April 2011, her collaboration with Moleskine was showcased in all major bookstores in Singapore and across Asia.

In the same month her post on the Singapore General Elections went viral across the web. Life is truly stranger than fiction as that blog post landed her a lunch date with Presidential candidate Dr Tony Tan three months later

Community Work

With support from her readers, Daphne organized the charity event Happee Day on 31 Oct 2010, a carnival held at the Hort Park for the Children’s Cancer Foundation which saw over 200 participants. In December the same year she raised over $2,000 worth of vouchers for the children at Melrose Home (Children Aid Society).
